What is an AlphaDog?
Alpha (the Greek letter α) is a term used in investing to describe a strategy's ability to beat the market, or it's "edge." Alpha is the result of active investing. Beta, on the other hand, can be earned through passive index investing, as it is a measure of the broad market's overall volatility or risk.
So we use the word AlphaDog to refer to someone who outperforms the market.
My goal is to help you become an AlphaDog.
Step one is to assess your current skill set and trading techniques. Then we will create an individualized plan to help you find the quickest route to optimization.
The consulting is organized around the five pillars of a successful trader:
- Basic skills are a requirement for any trader, and they are primarily acquired through practice. But there are some tools and techniques to help you acquire those skills in less time.
- Clarity of thinking in trading is a must. In fact any lack of clarity will cost you money in the long run. Planning, discipline, and solid statistical thinking will be nurtured.
- The specifics of any trade plan are certainly linked to risk management and the type of strategy that you are using. In a nutshell, though, a trade plan can be reduced to being able to answer three questions: a) Why did you open the trade? b) What are you hoping to achieve? c) When do you exit the trade?
- Risk management is also dependent on your strategy. But a good risk management plan is imperative. Like the trade plan, an AlphaDog has a risk management plan, and follows it. Always.
- Always having an edge is the most elusive of the five characteristics for the individual trader. Trading without edge is a losing proposition even if you have all of the other characteristics. Together, we will find your edge!

While my coaching can help with all asset classes, I am currently accepting only clients that want to trade the US stock markets. The free 15 minute initial consultation will help us determine if you are a good candidate for this coaching.
How do I schedule my appointment?
Upon purchasing coaching, you will be given access to my calendar where you select a time for your appointment. We use Zoom for the coaching sessions.
Can I purchase coaching more than once?
Of course. We will work together on the overall training plan.
